Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will acquire: Knowledge 1. Knowledge of the historical background, playing field, rules of play, purpose of the game, and both basic and specialized regulations of the sport. 2. Understanding of the main competencies and the process of selecting volleyball athletes. 3. Knowledge of basic positions and movements, general principles, and methods of warm-up in volleyball. 4. Understanding of the theoretical foundation of all essential motor skills for volleyball (overhead pass, underhand pass, reception, defense, serve, attack, block), including methodological approaches, possible execution errors, their causes, and corrections. Basic knowledge of individual and team tactics for each of these motor skills. 5. Knowledge of the 6:0, 4:2, and 4:2 offensive specialization playing systems. 6. Understanding of how to organize a lesson and a training session, as well as how to plan and manage volleyball tournaments and matches. Skills 1. Presentation, analysis, instruction, simple combination, and competitive execution of all fundamental technical volleyball skills. 2. Ability to individually or collectively present a lesson plan or training session. 3. Development and enhancement of team spirit, collaboration, and interaction among small and larger groups. Competencies 1. Design and development of a training plan, training session, or lesson plan. 2. Design of methodology and plan for demonstration, instruction, and learning of motor skills, individual and team tactics, intervention, feedback, adaptation, and modification of training or the lesson. 3. Participation in a match. 4. Organization of matches and tournaments. 5. Refereeing.

Course Content (Syllabus)
WINTER AND SPRING SEMESTER Week Content Learning Outcomes Week 1 Lesson 1 Historical overview of the sport. Playing field, rules of play, purpose of the game. Basic rules. Knowledge of the sport’s historical development and evolution, its value, and its role in society. Basic knowledge of game rules and conduct. Week 2 Lesson 2 Main abilities of volleyball athletes. Methods for selecting athletes. Basic stances and movements before and after ball contact. Development of ability to select volleyball athletes. Initial contact with the sport and the playing area. Week 3 Lesson 3 Basic principles, methods, and types of warm-up in volleyball. Introduction to overhead pass. Basic principles for introducing training or practical parts of a volleyball lesson. Week 4 Lesson 4 Overhead pass: individual drills, in pairs, groups of three, four, five or more. Combined and competitive exercises. Development and improvement of skillfulness. Ability to demonstrate, teach, use methodological approaches, and correct mistakes. (Skill – Competence) Week 5 Lesson 5 Underhand pass (bump): individual drills, in pairs, groups of three, four, five or more. Combined and competitive exercises. Development and improvement of skillfulness. Ability to demonstrate, teach, use methodological approaches, and correct mistakes. (Skill – Competence) Week 6 Lesson 6 Underhand pass (bump), reception, and defense. Combined and competitive exercises. Adapted gameplay. Development and improvement of skillfulness. Ability to demonstrate, teach, use methodological approaches, and correct mistakes. Application of rules. (Skill – Competence) Week 7 Lesson 7 Serve: types of serves. Individual and team tactics of the server. Combined and competitive server exercises. Adapted gameplay. Development and improvement of skillfulness. Ability to demonstrate, teach, use methodological approaches, and correct mistakes. Application of rules. (Skill – Competence) Week 8 Lesson 8 Attacking hit: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd tempo attacks. Combined and competitive attack exercises. 6:0 system gameplay. Development and improvement of skillfulness. Ability to demonstrate, teach, use methodological approaches, and correct mistakes. Application of rules. (Skill – Competence) Week 9 Lesson 9 Block: 4 types – stationary, side step, cross step, and combined step. Gameplay with 6:0 and 4:2 systems. Development and improvement of skillfulness. Ability to demonstrate, teach, use methodological approaches, and correct mistakes. Application of systems and rules. (Skill – Competence) Week 10 Lesson 10 Specialized rules. Match sheet. Gameplay with 4:2 system and 4:2 with offensive player specialization (middle and outside hitters). Knowledge of rules and game systems. Application of rules. Week 11 Lesson 11 Continuation of specialized rules and match sheet. Gameplay with 4:2 offensive specialization.
