Basic knowledge of standardization and understanding of fundamental certification concepts, ability to identify key subsystems of an aircraft/unmanned aerial vehicle system
Learning Outcomes
Learning the EMAR21 Design Process: Students will become familiar with the EMAR21 design process, including the V-model, and learn how to apply the corresponding specifications and standards in practice. Understanding Airworthiness Regulations: Students will gain knowledge and understand the philosophy of the airworthiness regulations and UAV legislation, understanding the requirements and standards governing airworthiness. Safety Analysis and Documentation Preparation: Students will learn to conduct safety analyses, from the initial FHA to the final PASA, and will acquire the skills to prepare airworthiness checklists and documentation.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction in the EMAR21 system design process and philosophy, including the V-model and corresponding norms. Airworthiness regulations and UAV legislation. Safety analysis, ranging from the initial FHA to the final PASA analyses. Special considerations. Design and testing based on FAR23 and STANAG4671 codes. Preparation of airworthiness checklists and documentation
