Learning Outcomes
Students will explore and gain a deep understanding of the prose written during the years of the financial crisis. They will examine how authors captured the social, economic, and emotional impacts of this turbulent period through their writing, analyzing themes, styles, and narratives that reflect the complexities of that time. By engaging with these texts, students will develop an awareness of how literature responds to and is shaped by major historical and financial events, allowing them to connect the prose to broader cultural and societal changes during the crisis years.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course will focus on the exploration and analysis of prose works written by authors during times of crisis, particularly examining how these works interact with and respond to the political and social circumstances of their time. Students will delve into the ways in which these writers express the tensions, challenges, and transformations that arise in periods of financial, political, or societal upheaval.
