Learning Outcomes
Upon the successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

Course Content (Syllabus)
In the course of Modern Greek Language for foreign AUTH Medical School students: level A1 (basic user), students will be introduced to the Greek alphabet, phonetics and writing of the Greek language, and will acquire elementary/basic communication skills using simple language structures through communicative situations relevant to medical studies. Students will learn to exchange information on familiar topics of everyday life, life at the university, hospital, doctor's office, etc. (e.g. basic personal information, such as introducing themselves, talking about themselves, their studies, their origin, their country, the environment they live in, talking about simple health problems, asking and giving instructions, buying, ordering, expressing their preference, talking about commuting, travel, work, daily habits, etc.). They will be introduced to short texts such as small dialogues, signs, restaurants menus, bills, receipts, advertisements, posters, maps, simple letters or e-mails, aimed at the satisfaction of their needs of a concrete type in their everyday life.

Description
There is a textbook with listening exercises from the Internet, as well as the use of photos, videos, websites, multimedia material, and PowerPoint presentations related to the subject of the lesson.
After the end of each lesson, electronic notes are sent to the students via e-mail.
The final evaluation is conducted via a written test on the Aristotle University Moodle plarform.

The final grade is formed: 50% class performance and 50% final written test
The four language skills' evaluation (listening, reading, speaking, writing) is according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment 2001.
