Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students are expected to have become familiar with and to understand:
-the basic principles of Latin that form the basis for the creation of German medical terms,
-the structure and formation of German medical terminology,
-the composition of terms derived from Latin and German roots,
-the corresponding terms used in everyday medical language in German,
-the scientific names of the anatomical structures of the skull, trunk, upper and lower limbs, as well as of the organs of the respiratory and digestive systems,
-simple medical texts in the German language, and
-the names and subject areas of German medical specialties.

Course Content
-Introduction to Medical Terminology
-Basic theoretical knowledge of the structure and formation of German medical terms (scientific and everyday usage).
-Medical Specialties
German names of medical specialties and brief descriptions of their fields.
