Learning Outcomes
Cognitive: Acquaintance of students with practical applications of plant organisms in matters regarding administration of propagating material and biologically active plant components (essential oils). Affective: Movement from the theory to the reality of application. Skills: Use of biological material and application of biological functions in order to achieve a practical result.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Managing of sexual and asexual propagating plant material. Plant breeding and the cultivated varieties. Monocultures, green revolution, gene banks. Plant budding and grafting: techniques and methodology. The economic value of plant compounds. Plant proteins. Biologically active compounds of plant secondary metabolism. Green chemicals. Plants with alkaloids. Aromatic plants. Essential oils: isolation, composition, infraspecific variation. Greek aromatic plants. The commercial groups of aromatic plants: Oregano. Mint, Sage, Mountain tea, Thyme.
