Learning Outcomes
Students achieve a first contact and familiarization with stage directing. Through exercises in the different stage ‘languages’ students acquire skills in dramaturgy and stage narration. The above skills are very valuable and applicable to the TiE projects and activities in the schools.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Students are called to react creatively to a play that is prescribed by the teacher, and produce brief individual ‘sketches’, directing the actors and curating themselves the stage design, lighting and music. Individual presentations are thoroughly discussed in class. In the spring semester of 2015-16 students work on Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet".

Student Assessment
Description
Open discussion and criticism of all scenes and directing sketches. At the end of the semester students have to submit also a stage directing dossier. Those who have not presented a scene can produce an imaginary directing plan "on paper".
