Learning Outcomes
By succesfully compliting the course the students must be able to: - name the main differences between a micro- and a macro-device - design a simple micro-device (e.g. micro-reactor)and - to study its performance both experimentally and by using CFD.

Course Content (Syllabus)
• Introduction μικροσυσκευών (applications, advantages, disadvantages). • Common methods for contructing micro-devices. • design and study principles for micro-devices (Transition from macro- to micro-scale transport, transport phenomena in micro-scale). • application of CFD code for the design and study of micro-devices . • non-intrusive measuring techniques(e.g. μ-PIV, LIF, μ–spectrophotometry etc) • Εφαρμογές (case studies) ( μ-αναμίκτες, μ-αντιδραστήρες, μ-εναλλάκτες).

Students in two-mwmber groups are assigned a to write a report on a relevant subject, which they must also present to their fellow students who are expected to rate them. The fial grade consists of the students performance on the quiz and the oral presentation as well as the completeness of the written report. on the same subject.
