Course Content (Syllabus)
The course focuses on the theoretical distinction between modernism(s) and historical avant-guard movements and discusses their relation to politics, aesthetics and literary / ideological ‘milieu’ and tradition. Special emphasis is given to ‘Surrealism’ in France and Greece through the ‘close reading’ of manifestoes and of literary texts.
