Course Content (Syllabus)
The course aims to teach presentation techniques using the modern technology. In particular, the subject matter includes the modules: (a) Presentations on the computer: Microsoft PowerPoint, Creating presentations, Editing and formatting content (text, tables, slides), Graphics, Charts, Organization charts, Diagrams, Multimedia slide-transition effects and motion of objects, Publishing presentations on the Internet, SlideShare, Prezi. (b) Presentation techniques: The presentation design in practice from the initial concept to the final delivery, Choosing and developing a topic (defining purpose, audience analysis, gathering information), Organisation and support (structuring the speech, supporting material, using visual aids), Presenting the message (dealing with stage fright, types of delivery, guidelines for delivery), Informative vs Persuasive speaking, Development of external and internal presentation skills. (c) Presentation equipment technology: Slides and overhead projector, Projection screen, Slide-projector, Video-projector, Document-camera, White-board, The presentation room.
