Course Content (Syllabus)
CHARACTERIZATION TECHNIQUES OF INORGANIC COMPOUNDS AND MATERIALS Content: Molecular symmetry, crystal symmetry, unit cells, crystallographic systems. X-rays, powder diffraction, single-crystal diffraction. Description of the X-ray single-crystal diffractometer. Single-crystal selection, mounting and data collection. Solving the crystal and molecular structure. Molecular magnetochemistry-Instrumentation Molecular systems analogue to conventional magnetic materials. Magnetic theory of Solids Modern magnetic materials Electronic paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and its application Thermal Analysis: Theory-Instrumentation-TG, DTA, DSC, QIA, TMA, Kinetics Simultaneous techniques, Derivatograph(TG/DTG-DTA) Coupled techniques (TG-MS), TG-FT-IR) Applications to Organic, Inorganic Materials, Construction Materials, Minerals, Polymers. Application to basic common laboratory techniques
