Course Content (Syllabus)
Significance of tension and deformation. (Equilibrium Equations, Conservation of momentum and energy in the continuous medium). Association equations. (elasticity, plasticity, viscoelasticity, drawing, rotation, bending, hardness, creep, relaxation, lassitude, fracture). Point, linear and rotated imperfections. Voids and dislocations. Grain boundaries. Surfaces and interfaces. Microstructures and nanostructures (in the metals, polymers, films and biomaterials). Material instabilities. Spatial and time evolution of microstructures and nanostructures and its instability phenomena and self-organizing.
