Course Content (Syllabus)
The aim of this module is to investigate the ‘mythologies’ that codify the ideas and values which nourish the design procedure. The course offers the opportunity to students to gain an insight into the ways in which architectural thinking, formed through these mythologies, can be transcribed into innovative architecture. The course will focus on the identifying of symbiotic relationships, that architecture has established with different disciplines in time. This research procedure sheds light on the way the value systems embedded in these disciplines affect architectural design and the design procedure. The course is organised upon lectures, presentations, seminars, small and short-term exercises and panel discussions which will widen the horizons of the students and allow them to comprehend the broad containing frame of advanced design.
