Using databases fisheries production (FishBase: www.fishbase.gr, SeaLifeBase: www.sealifebase.org; FAO: http://www.fao.org/, Sea Around Us: http://www.seaaroundus.org), stock assessment methods (based on the fishery data in underwater acoustics in egg production and other methods).

Course Content (Syllabus)
Fisheries databases: FishBase, SeaLifeBase, FAO & Sea Around Us. Global fish production: marine ecosystems, inland waters. Mediterranean and Greek fisheries production. Definition and identification of stocks: use of population genetics and phylogeography. Stock assessment using catch data (models Fox and Shaefer, trawl surveys). Stock assessment using hydro-acoustics. Stock assessment using egg production methods. Stock assessment using other methods (satellite tracking, mark-recapture, visual census). Stock assessment using other methods (satellite tracking, mark-recapture, visual census).
