Course Content (Syllabus)
The objective of this course is to enable students to understand the language of audiovisual texts and to familiarise them with key theoretical aspects and texts on audiovisual semiotics. Students will be trained to understand cinematic language, audiovisual narrative and the main concepts of adaptation across different semiotic systems/modes and cultures. The course will comprise of both theoretical and laboratory work on various audiovisual genres ranging from feature to animation films. Assessment will be based on a final project.
