Course Content (Syllabus)
Organic Chemistry in Biological Systems. Molecular mechanism of enzyme reactions. Biocatalysis and enzymes in organic synthesis. Synthetic enzyme models-Artificial enzymes. Molecular recognition. Drug design. Catalytic antibodies. Biosynthesis of natural products. Basic concepts of biosynthetic mechanisms. Acetic acid biosynthetic pathway. Shikimic acid pathway. Mevalonate pathway. Mixed biosynthetic routes of alkaloids
