To distinguish the Qur'anic text and to be able to understand the classical schools and collections (Tafsir)
of the Quranic interpretations.
To be aware of the hermeneutic issues that arose from the literal or allegorical approach of the quranic text.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course focuses on both the textual form of the Quran and the classical
interpretations developed in the different phases of the Muslim history. The course
refers to the teaching and academic approach and analysis of the Quranic text
and its theological understanding and ways of interpretation, as well as the
various approaches of the text from the Muslim schools(maddhabs).
