Learning Outcomes
The aim of the course is the conquest of knowledge regarding the physics of sound and the parameters of the digital audio, as well as the acquaitance with the use of audio equipment for film shooting. A historical approach in sound technology along with the development of cinema is carried out and also deepening in the operation and use of the microphones.

Basic concepts of the physics of sound and hearing.
The sound as a wave.
Wave phenomena.
Digital Audio: sampling and quantizing
Practical contact with sound equipment for film shooting
First recording attempts
Understanding and deepening on the development of sound and music in relation to cinema.
Sound technological developments, in relevance to the technological evolution of cinema (1895-1927)
Microphones, recording and reproduction of sound
