Learning Outcomes
Purpose of the module is to give students, females and males, the adequate knowledge on the basic technique in elements/exercises without apparatus, and handlings with rope and ball. The use of rhythmic apparatus (rope and ball) with music accommodation can be easily used for recreational and pedagogical purposes, and also for learning and improving motor skills in elementary and high.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Theory History of Rhythmic gymnastics. Analyze and purpose of the use of body positions in classic dance, rationalistic consideration of moves. Use of music in rhythmic gymnastics. Theoretical analysis of fundamental technique in ball’s and rope’s handlings. Structure of a rhythmic gymnastics program in the two apparatus regarding space and time. Basic elements about rhythmic gymnastics during competitions based to Code of Points. Practice 1st week. Body positions in classic dance, movement orientation in space. Different kinds of jumps and leaps. 2nd week. Rhythmic steps. Exercises of flexibility, legs and shoulders. Learning jete, scissor and pas de chat jumps. Combination of simple jumps in series. 3rd week. Ball: handles, swings, circles, transmissions, statically and travelling in space. Simple rolls of ball on the floor and on the body, simple bounces and rhythmic bounches, simple types of throws and catches. Skills of body rotation. 4th week. Ball: combination of skills with the ball and body skills, throwing ball during leaps and jumps. Learning simple ball skills with pre-acrobatics. 5th week. Ball: learning rolls on large body surfaces statically and travelling in space, catches by different parts of the body after a throw. 6th week. Ball: how to construct an ensemble or individual program with music. Short compositions with music accommodation. Cooperations and games with ball. Improvisations. 7th week. Rope: handles, swings, wrappings on the body, moving-travelling. Rotations of the rope in different levels. 8th week. Learning exercises on the floor, combination of pre-acrobatic elements and floor exercises. Passing through rope with hoops, Jumping through rope by simple body skills. 9th week. Rope: Different types of jumps/leaps, small throws, passing through the rope. 10th week. Rope: balances on barre and par terre. Short compositions with music accommodation. Cooperations and games with ball. Improvisations. 11th week. Compositions with music accommodation appropriate to developmental ages. 12th week. Revision of skills with ball and rope. Cooperations using both apparatus. 13th week. Students teaching to each other in small groups in self selective theme.

Student Assessment
Description
Students are examined in theory and in practice. Theory examination includes the subjects of the lectures, while practice examination includes the presentation of a choreography with the apparatus of rhythmic gymnastics which are taught during the semester. Te final grade is the sum of the theoretical and the practical examination devided by 2. The excellent grade is 10.
