Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction: Decision making in the management of forests and forest ecosystems - Decision making process - Criteria for assessment and selection of alternative scenarios - Methods of combining and using criteria. Forest Models. Introduction to concepts: Linear Programming - Goal Programming - Dynamic Programming. Heuristic optidmization methods (Random Search for Solutions, Genetic Algorithms, Simulated Annealing, Prohibited Transition). Spatial planning in the management of forest ecosystems. Applications in solving forest ecosystem management problems.
