Education on advanced techniques of chemical analysis, applications on the determination of chemical parameters of natural samples, evaluation of measurements, reference writing and its open presentation to the students of the course.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Theory: Applications of statistics on chemical analysis Random and systematic errors Rejection of dubious values Accuracy control Comparison of experimental mean values Determination of detection limit statistically significant digits/ Organization of chemical laboratory/ collection and conservation of samples Solubilization of solid samples Separation techniques/ Extraction/ion exchange/ Chromatographic techniques: ion chromatography,gas chromatography Atomic spectroscopy and graphite furnace(GFAA)/ ICP, FTIR, TG-DTA Laboratory experiments: -Determination of ionic constituents in atmospheric samples with ion chromatography -Solubilization of environmental and biological samples and determination of metals with AAS (GRIPHITE FURNACE) -Determination of Mercury with cold vapor technique -Determination of total organic carbon (TOC) in potable water and wastes -Identification of organic and inorganic compounds with FT-IR -Qualitative and Quantitative determination of inorganic compounds with TG-DTA.
