Course Content (Syllabus)
The Will to power is a key concept in Friedrich Nietzsche’s later work. If this concept refers to the reason for that which is seemingly real, then it belongs to the great tradition of Metaphysics that denies the sensible nature of experience and recurs to its deeper reasons. Whether we are dealing with water or infinity and fire or the idea or Will to power, the reduction of the sensible nature of experience to a deeper reason remains the same. In his later work, Friedrich Nietzsche develops his clear perception of this impasse, thus raising the question about how it is possible for a theory to be locked in a scheme of thought and, nevertheless, be attempting to overcome it at the same time.
