Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to: - notice the characteristics of the various educational theories and recognize their importance and contribution to the learning process - realize the relation among the various learning theories and their continuity through the implementation of ICT in the shool. - identify the features of various theories of learning and recognize the importance and contribution to the process of learning, - realize how the learning theories were influenced and modified after the integration of ICT and how this modifties the teaching approach and procedure, - relate and connect the learning theories with the teaching strategies, practices and applications.

Course Content (Syllabus)
In this course are developed issues related to contemporary learning theories (behavorism, constructivism, sociocultural, social, information processing, technolgical etc) and is presented the implementation of learning principles in educational frames related to the teaching approach of Religious Education in schools. More specifically, are presented: the place of RE in education and the most important factors related to it. The curricula, the content of the course, the basic methodological preconditions for the instructional design of RE. The methodology, structure and conduct of teaching of RE. The integration and exploitation of the ICT applications (Information and Communication Technology) at all phases of the teaching approach of RE.

Description
The lectures are supported with ppt presentations and visits to webpages. The powerpoint presentations are uploaded on the webpage of the professor. For the communication with the students is used the email server of A.U.Th., webmail, and the personal webpage of the professor.

Student Assessment
Description
Students answer written questions on issues discussed in class. Assessment is based upon whether students state clear answers and develop personal critical attitude towards course thematic. They write a teaching plan for RE and present it within the course context. In the final exams, they hand out an assignment and take written exams.
