Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student is expected to: - be familiar with basic measurements and calculations in chemical technology, simple mass and energy balances and unit systems. - Have a basic understanding of some elements of fluid flow and heat transfer. - will be able to solve basic exercises and applications taught previous lessons -will be able to make the correct modifications of the respective units where necessary. - be aware of the use of water in the chemical industry, the main problems encountered and their treatment with the appropriate treatment method. - will have basic knowledge of waste water treatment methods (both industrial and municipal). - will also be aware of some key elements of hygiene and safety in the chemical industry.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Chemical technology separation processes (extraction, hydroc-lassification, drying, fluidised bed; flocculation, flotation, leaching, mixing, crystallization, distillation, pumps, chemical reactors, corrosion, water cooling tower etc.); heat transfer; safety in industrial plants; laboratory exercises on the above-mentioned subjects
