Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course students will be able to:
1.Teach Greek as a second/foreign language
2.Familiarise with current scientific developments and related methodology in teaching Greek as a second / foreign language either conventional or distance learning.
3. Address practical teaching issues concerning a second / foreign language
4. Distinguish on the basis of scientific criteria the quality of the resources and materials offered for teaching Greek as a second / foreign language
5. Use alternative types of teaching and assessment
Course Content (Syllabus)
Τhe course is structured in thematic sections which are distributed as follows:
Section 1: First - second language (similarities - differences)
Section 2: Bilingualism
Section 3: Learning Theories L2
Section 4: Successful Learning Factors L2: Age-Appeal-Motivation-Strategies
Section 5 - The appropriate learning and teaching framework of C2: teaching methods and approaches (daily)
Section 6 - The use of (authentic) materials in lesson design: game, song, fairy tale
Section 7: The use of literature in the teaching of the second / foreign language
Section 8: Teaching language skills, vocabulary & grammar
Section 9: Evaluation and organization of teaching material
Section 10: The evaluation of Greek language learners as C2 students
Section 11: Design of evaluation criteria for receiving and productiveskills
