• Principles of pretreatment of aqueous and solid environmental samples for determination of inorganic and organic pollutants
• General principles of gas chromatographic analysis – operating principles of major GC detectors
• General principles of liquid chromatographic analysis – operating principles of major LC detectors
• Mass Spectrometry (MS): Introduction, Ionization and analysis techniques, Instrumentation, Chemical reactions and thermochemistry, Tandem mass spectrometry
• Destructive and non-destructive methods for analysis of chemical elements (ICP-MS, XRF)
• Identification of organic pollutants in environmental samples-Interpretation of spectra
• Chemical analysis of airborne particulate matter (OC, EC, WSOC, HULIS, acid constituents , PAHs, metals, on line analysis of atmospheric aerosols)
