Following the successful completion of the class, student will:
• be aware of the requirements targeting to profitable vegetable crop production
• learn the principles of vegetable crops production
• be familiarized with vegetables
• be concerned about environmental issues related to the production of vegetables.

Economic importance of vegetable crops, Historical development of the cultivation of vegetable species, Contemporary environmental problems and the practice of vegetable farming, Types of vegetable farms, Classification of vegetables, Importance of genetic material, Propagation, Requirements in environmental conditions, Problems and damages from adverse environmental conditions, Cultivation practices and equipment, Other requirements, Harvesting and handling of the products, Yield and productivity, Quality, specifications, sale and quality control, Nutritional value and safety.
