Learning Outcomes
Students will be familiar with the criteria, characteristics and the biological and cognitive background of the most common neurological and psychiatric diagnoses so that they can ask the right questions for differential diagnosis in clinical cases.
Course Content (Syllabus)
An overview of neuropathology and the clinical picture of key neurological and psychiatric disorders and other diseases affecting the central nervous system is made. Indicatively, neurodegenerative disorders (e.g., dementia due to Alzheimer's disease), strokes, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and more frequent neurological and psychiatric disorders called by a neuropsychologist in clinical practice. The course also includes the presentation and discussion of clinical cases.
