General Prerequisites
Excellent knowledge of the Greek and German language and the principles of translation.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be familiar with the basic principles of audiovisual translation and its peculiarities in relation to other types of translation and will be able to subtitle films from German into Greek and to operate subtitling programs.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The aim of the course is to deal thoroughly with audiovisual translation on a theoretical and practical level, the subtitling of German-language films in Greek language and their screening to an academic audience.

Student Assessment
Description
Students are assessed on the basis of their active participation in the course throughout the semester and the outcome of their project, which is the subtitling of a German-language film into Greek - in groups of three to four people - and the organisation of its public screening.
