Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students are familiar with the political decision-making processes in Local and Regional Government institutions, with the processes of building collective institutions (Local Youth Councils, Municipal Departments) and with planning and administration.
Course Content (Syllabus)
The Greek Operational Programme (OP) on Education and Initial Vocational Training offers to undergraduates the opportunity of employment
a) in various political institutions (Local Authorities, Non-Governmental Organizations etc.); students are expected to participate actively in the everyday functions of such institutions and/or
b) to a private research/constulting company to familiariaze with public opinion surveys
Vocational Training is structured on the basis of a six-month term. Before the beginning of each term students are instructed as to the details of programme, the object of their employment and the nature of the host institutions. Also, at the beginning of each term the students are expected to attend a seminar focusing on the structure and mode of operation of the institutions involved and on available methods and techniques.
All students who have completed at least three years of study in the Department are eligible to apply for participation.
