Students should be able to: - Analyse and understand the basic principles underlying Text Linguistics. - Approach Intercultural Communication through various Textual Genres, such as intercultural advertisements, commented journalistic news, speeches and interviews. - focus on cultural differences in terms of how textual genres used for language communication are organized. - develop skills in the critical analysis of different textual genres, taking into account the cultural aspects affecting language communication. - apply their learning knowledge to the analysis of practical textual genres representing different cultural realities.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The aim of the course is to analyze the basic principles of Text Linguistics as also to approach intercultural communication through different textual genres, such as (intercultural) advertisements, commented journalistic news, speeches and interviews, focusing on cultural differences in terms of the way the textual genres are organized, through which linguistic communication is carried out.

Description
The final grade consists of the following parts, which are taken into account:- attendance and active participation in the seminar (20% of the grade) - oral presentation of a paper/short presentation (30% of the grade) - written work at the end of the semester (50% of the grade)A minimum grade of six (6) must be achieved in each part.
