Learning Outcomes
Use of principles of Theoretical Linguistics and several methods of analysis in solving problems of language use • Familiarization with the principles, terminology and scientific fields of Applied Linguistics • Development of critical thinking as regards concepts of Applied Linguistics and ability to use them • Analysis of linguistic theories and connection with fields of application: didactic applications, writing activities, natural language processing • Development of critical and analytical skills Overview of the history and development of applied linguistics

Course Content (Syllabus)
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the principles of Applied Linguistics and to the various fields of this domain. Students are invited to explore the language use in the modern world, its role in wider communication and its relation to culture and society.
