Learning Outcomes
They understand the mathematical definitions of the basic vector calculus operators. They recognize fundamental theorems and properties of vector calculus. They distinguish between the concepts of quantity, function of position and field, both for scalar and vector quantities. They know the methodological approach for modeling the attraction potential of simple mass distributions.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Vector Calculus, Causs theorem. Green identities, Stokes' theorem. Curvilinear orthogonal coordinates. Force field - Potential. Integral theorems of potential theory. Representation of attracting potential by means of spherical and ellipsoidal harmonics.
