Prerequisites
General Prerequisites
Basic theoretical and applied knowledge related to microwave remote sensing science. Knowledge and understanding of radar remote sensing sensors and platforms characteristics. Understanding essential active RS image processing workflows.
Learning Outcomes
Acquire theoretical and practical knowledge about microwave remote sensing. Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics of microwave imaging platforms and systems. Learning basic methods of processing satellite radar data.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction to Microwave Remote Sensing. Fundamental characteristics of radar systems. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technology and platforms SAR image generation and geometry. SAR data calibration and (pre)processing. SAR interaction with natural and artificial surfaces. Fundamentals of SAR interferometry (InSAR). Advanced InSAR techniques. SAR polarimetry. SAR applications. SAR applications. SAR synergies with other remote sensing systems and geospatial technologies. Other active and passive radar systems and microwave remote sensing measurements.
