Rangeland and Range landscape, Concepts and definitions of the range landscape, Landscape Ecology - Classification of landscapes, Structure of the landscape, Evolution of landscapes, Land use and land cover, Identification of land use/cover, The use of Geographic Information Systems, Landscape analysis: Methodology of landscape analysis, Diachronic evolution of the landscape, Fractal analysis of the landscape, Types of fractional dimension. Landscape indicators, Landscape health, Multifunctionality of rangeland landscapes, Production of grazing material and animal products, Biodiversity, Natural environment and wildlife, Water production, Cultural heritage and tradition, Recreation, Development of mountainous areas, Economic development of mountainous areas through sports and recreation, Livestock farming and quality of life, Biodiversity and livestock farming in rangelands, Flora and animal products, Greek cheese products, Indigenous species of farm animals as a means of managing cultural landscapes, Product quality and agrotourism, Evaluation of land use compatibility.

Student Assessment
Description
The evaluation of the course is based on the written examination of the course at the end of the semester . The exams of the course include multiple-choice questions and short/extended answers from the taught course material. In addition, there is the possibility of an optional review of an article related to the subject of the course to improve the final passing grade of the exams up to 20%.
