• The development and fundamental principles of Adapted Physical Education/Activity are described.
• The concept of an active and healthy lifestyle is explained and linked to the ICF model.
• The importance of motor development is described, and fundamental motor skills and levels of learning are analyzed.
• Characteristics of intellectual disability are identified, and pedagogical and motor teaching strategies are explained.
• Specific learning disabilities are analyzed, and basic interventions in Adapted Physical Education (APE) are proposed.
• Characteristics of deafness and cerebral palsy are described in relation to teaching needs.
Skills
• Individualized teaching programs are designed for students with disabilities.
• Principles of adaptation are applied to individuals with developmental disorders.
• Teaching and motor adaptation strategies are applied to individuals with sensory disorders, specifically deafness.
• Differentiated teaching techniques are incorporated based on the disabilities and capabilities of participants.
