Course Content (Syllabus)
Purpose and description
The purpose of this course is to prepare students on a theoretical, practical, and pedagogical level, to provide knowledge, to cultivate and improve their individual motor skills in volleyball, so that they may understand and apply the sport at athletic, coaching, and instructional levels.
The course focuses on the understanding of both basic and specialized individual and team tactics and game systems. It includes the teaching of fundamental training principles and methods, the development of the ability to design training programs and lesson plans, as well as the pedagogical approach and adaptation to various age groups and competitive levels.
Furthermore, it aims to create conditions and strategies for communication and collaboration among students, to promote knowledge of the official rules of the game, and to develop skills in managing and organizing matches. The course also emphasizes performance evaluation—of both athletes and students—as well as self-assessment of the lesson, the methods, and the tools used.
Finally, students are expected to apply appropriate academic sources and literature in the preparation of assignments and in future academic or professional endeavors.
