Learning Outcomes
Students will learn the basic tools for describing and classifying igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks, as well as understanding petrogenetic processes and their geological significance. Students will acquire the expertise to classify in the field and in the laboratory the three classes of rocks.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Elements of crystallography, mineralogy. Earth composition.Rock forming minerals, rock categories (igneous, pyrogenic sedimentary, metamorphic rocks). Elements of general geology, geotectonic and technical geology. Mechanical and natural properties of rocks. Elements of rock engineering.
