Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course participants will acquire: 1. Professional understand of the legal framework that defines the specifications of forest management plans 2. Ability to use the basic tools and methods used in the creation of forest management plans 3. Ability to design and compose forest management plans of Greek forests

Course Content (Syllabus)
As part of the course, the participating students will be trained in the fundamental phases of drafting a management plan for the Thessaloniki Urban Forest. Specifically, their training will cover the following phases: 1. **Forest Division**: Students will learn how to divide the forest into clusters and sections based on natural and biological characteristics, such as vegetation and terrain. 2. **Forest Inventory Planning**: They will become familiar with the methodology of designing data collection concerning the forest's condition, including measurements like tree vitality, regeneration, and density. 3. **Detailed Forest Description**: Students will draft detailed descriptions of the forest clusters, including information on flora, fauna, and microclimate. 4. **Management Planning**: They will design strategies for the sustainable management of the forest, focusing on biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration.

Description
The assessment of the course is based on the quality of the essay delivered by the students by taking into account the following criteria: - Proper use of forest management terms and concepts - Correct justification of forest management measures - Structure and overall quality of the essay (eg is the text comprehensible? Are all tables or diagrams necessary for understanding the work included in the essay?) - Quality of the cartographic background Works with more than 10% of "plagiarism" will not be accepted. (Turnitin / Moodle)
