read classic texts of English postcolonialism;
transfer theoretical configurations from one realm to another;
read narratives focusing on the German colonial history;
analyze these texts using the tools of the New Weltliteratur

Course Content (Syllabus)
This seminar conducts a comparative approach to colonalism through English and German literary texts. After an introduction into postcolonial studies we will discuss the application of this theoretical configuration to contemporary German texts. Furthermore, the New Weltliteratur will be tested in this environment as a methodological and analyzing set of tool.
