Learning Outcomes
With the end of this course, the students will be able: 1. To understand the relationship between grazing livestock and rangelands 2. To organize the development of rangelands and livestock farming 3. To be practiced in the integrated management plans of rangeland in harmony with the use of forests and agricultural lands

Pastures and their importance in the development of livestock farming, Peculiarities of Greek animal husbandry, Ownership status of pastures and status of their use, Communal grazing, Pastures area and distribution, Policy of pastures development, Stakeholders and development programs, Livestock farming systems, Livestock production systems, Number and structure of livestock capital, Livestock changes over time, Kind of grazing animals. Breeds of cattle, sheep and goats, Farmers’ pluriactivity and professional, Sustainability of livestock farms, Resilience and stability of sheep and goat extensive farming system in situations of emergency (Covid-19).
