Learning Outcomes
-To get familiar with the general trends of international and european educational policy. -To relate the curent educational policies with the wider polical-ideological end social and economical changes. -To create α suitable cognitive and critical background regarding international and european educational developments in order to de able to comprehend and interpret the greek educational policy.

Course Content (Syllabus)
This course aims at introducing students into basic concepts, procedures and phenomena concerning the contemporary educational policy. The predicaments and the models of educational policy, the process of policy production and the concerned groups (pressure groups), the educational policy of the international organisations (such as OECD and UNESCO) and especially the one of the European Union are examined. Finally, the basic beliefs of the new-liberal educational standards and the transformations being caused on the educational systems that adopt it are examined.
