Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Elaborate theoretical notions concerning the relation between literature, society, education
2. Use creatively in their teaching notions and tools of contemporary narratology
3. Know a model of teaching literature in primary and secondary education
4. Discuss a series of specific problems of teaching literature, concerning both the content and the teaching methods
5. Be able to criticize and assess literature curricula

1. Introduction. Literature teaching in Greek school. Basic problems. Presupositions for a new literature curriculum

6. The challenge of theaching the novel
7. Literature and Media. Teaching Literature with ICT

Student Assessment
Description
The assessment is based on quizes during the laboratory sessions and on final exam at the end of the semester. The laboratory sessions are voluntary and can add 2 points to the final grade.The assessment criteria are explained during the lectures and they are:a) the capacity of combining information from various sources b) expression of personal opinions on various subjects that have been discussed during the lectures.
