Course Content (Syllabus)
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the various epistemological traditions that run through qualitative research in the social sciences. Emphasis will be placed on the basic approaches of hermeneutics and critical realism. The bulk of the traditions will focus on qualitative data analysis procedures. Special reference will be made to the analysis of data collected by all versions of interviewing (semi-structured, structured and unstructured) and by searching for archival material.
