Learning Outcomes
Upon the successful completion of the course, the students will be able: • to know the mechanisms through which the city, the transportation and the environment interact with each other, • to manage relevant studies, programs, projects, plans, actions and policies individually or in groups, • to advise private (eg transport companies) and public bodies (eg Municipalities) in the implementation of international ISO management standards, • to apply specific indicators to monitor the quality of the environment, the efficiency of transport systems and the quality of life in cities, • to develop the principles of environmental design and resilience in the urban environment, • use the relevant terminology (in Greek and English) and the appropriate scientific sources to delve into specific issues of cities, environment and transport that will face in their scientific and professional path.

Course Content (Syllabus)
1. Introduction: elements and data of interaction αμονγ ψities, transport and environment. 2. Environmental planning in the urban environment. 3. Sustainable and intelligent cities in the context of the Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 4. The transport and the environment in the context of the Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 5. The modern role of green, blue and gray infrastructure in the operation of cities. 6. Indicators and methodology for measuring the quality of life in cities in relation, inter alia, to the environment and transport. 7. Resilience, response and adaptation to climate change in cities and transport infrastructure. 8. Environmental disturbances and population movement. 9. Planning and study of the transport of dangerous goods and goods - Preparation of trans-boundary movement documents. 10. Standard management systems in environment (ISO 14001, EMAS, PERS), quality (ISO 9001, ISM), occupational health and safety (ISO 45001), and energy (ISO 50001) in cities and transport. 11. Preparation and management of emergency plans against technological, accidental and operational emergencies in cities and transport.
