Learning Outcomes
At the end of the semester students will be able to:
1. recognise key elements of music
2. recognise special kinds ( film , program and concrete Music )
3. recognise the modes of communication between director and composer are analised.
Course Content (Syllabus)
The aim of this compulsory course is to introduce students to the field of Music and Film Music, as it is the first Music-related course offered within the Department. The course presents the collaborative processes involved in film production as well as a general theoretical background in music, enabling students to develop a shared vocabulary for understanding and describing musical phenomena. A brief introduction to the use of a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) for music production is also included.
By the end of the semester, students will have become familiar with the main concepts of Music, the processes involved in composing music for film, the fundamental elements of instrumentation and orchestration, as well as the general structure and organization of musical works.
