The course is designed as a preparatory step for the required clinical procedures of the Postgraduate Program
Learning Outcomes
With successful completion of this course the postgraduate student has learned how to make preliminary impressions of a clinical case, record the maxillomandibular relationship, mount them on a semi-adjustable articulator with face-bow transfer, wax-up the case, take extra-oral and intraoral photos of the case and in cases of complete edentulism make individual impression trays and set up artificial teeth.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course includes the clinical procedures required for the acquisition of the required diagnostic elements of a patient who presents or is referred to the post-graduate prosthodontic clinic of the Department of Prosthodontics. The aim of the course is to introduce to the postgraduate students the procedures for impression making, maxillomandibular relation recording, face-bow transfer and mounting on a semi-adjustable articulator, the adjustment of the articulator using the intraoral registrations, the diagnostic wax-up, the diagnostic set-up of artificial teeth, the fabrication of individual trays, and record bases, and finally the dental photography and the use of photographic images for the documentation of the clinical cases.
