Learning Outcomes
The completion of the modules of the course will enable the students to be able to define gastronomy tourism and tourism related to agri-food, to recognize the different cuisines, but also the restrictions due to religious beliefs that shape them. In particular, it is important that students feel familiar, through the knowledge they have acquired and the experiences they have had, with:
- The concept of gastronomy and agri-food tourism, as well as their characteristics in the context of an integrated special tourist product
- The trends of gastronomy and agri-food tourism prevailing in Greece, Europe and worldwide.
- The gastronomic offer and the profile of gastronomy tourists seeking it
- The marketing of gastronomy and agri-food tourism
- The relationship between destination branding and gastronomy and/or agri-food
- The ways in which gastronomy and agri-food tourism is linked to local development
- The possibility of organising an event of gastronomic interest to attract tourists
- The stages of drawing up a strategic and operational plan for the development of gastronomic tourism
