Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of this module, students will be able to: • Understand and define concepts such as etiology of disease, prevention and treatment of patients. • To describe potential issues of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of elderly patients. • Establish appropriate conditions to improve their general health and fitness, such as maintaining daily activities, muscle strength and balance to prevent unwanted injuries. • To understand the development of chronic diseases mainly related to the musculoskeletal system. • Define therapeutic models. • To understand the needs and challenges in the care of the elderly. • To understand the difficulties that can be faced by nursing staff and all kinds of medical and paramedical staff in long-term care units and in hospitals.
