Course Content (Syllabus)
Developmental stages of grape vine. Fruit set, growth and ripening of grape berries. Developmental physiology of the vegetative and reproductive organs of grape vine. Factors regulating the development of grape vine organs: environmental conditions, phytohormones, nutrition. Endogenous and exogenous factors affecting the development of grape berries. Ripening biochemistry and chemical composition of the grape. The water relations of the grape vine. Factors affecting photosynthesis and respiration. The metabolism of sugars. Inorganic nutrition: the requirements of the grape vine in inorganic nutritional macro- and micro-elements of water and nutritional status in the quality/quantity of the production. Abiotic stress factors of the grape vine.
